Sony Unveils New PlayStation Accessories App Allowing Customization for Your DualSense Edge Controller on a PC
Sony has just leveled up the gaming experience for PC players by introducing a new way to fully customize the DualSense Edge controller directly from your desktop. With the launch of the PlayStation Accessories app, PC gamers can now tweak and fine-tune their controllers with unprecedented ease.
What the PlayStation Accessories App Brings to the Table
Announced in a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, the PlayStation Accessories app is now available for download, providing Windows users with the tools to personalize their DualSense Edge controller settings right from their PC. This app, which represents a significant upgrade from the previous “Firmware updater for DualSense wireless controller,” allows users to adjust a wide range of settings and keep their controller’s firmware up to date.

Whether you’re a casual gamer or a pro, this app empowers you to tailor your controller to your exact preferences. Once installed, simply connect your DualSense Edge to your PC via USB or Bluetooth, and you’re ready to go. From there, the app lets you modify everything from button layouts to Stick Sensitivity/Deadzone, Trigger Deadzone, and even Vibration/Trigger Effect Intensity.
Enhanced User Experience and Interface
Sony has clearly put a lot of thought into the user experience with this app. According to the Version 2.0.0.13 patch notes, the PlayStation Accessories app introduces “significant improvements to the overall design and user experience.” This means a smoother, more intuitive interface that makes customizing your controller simpler than ever.
Sony recommends downloading the latest update as soon as possible to ensure you’re getting the most out of your DualSense Edge controller. The update also brings with it a redesigned interface that is more user-friendly, enabling quicker and more precise adjustments.
Price Hike in Japan
In other news, Sony has announced that starting September 2, there will be a price increase for the PlayStation 5 and all related peripherals, including the PlayStation VR2 and DualSense Wireless controllers, in Japan. The company cites a “challenging external environment,” specifically fluctuations in the global economy, as the reason behind this price adjustment.
For Japanese gamers, this means that both the standard and digital editions of the PS5 will see a 13,000 yen price increase, equivalent to about $90. This marks the third price hike in Japan since the console’s launch in 2020, reflecting the ongoing challenges in the tech industry.
With the release of the PlayStation Accessories app, Sony continues to enhance the gaming experience for PC users, giving them the tools to customize their controllers down to the finest details. However, the announcement of the price increase in Japan serves as a reminder of the broader economic challenges facing the industry. As Sony adapts to these pressures, gamers can still look forward to new ways to elevate their gameplay, even if it comes with a higher price tag.
